About Moisture Mediation

The Process:

  1. Grind smooth the concrete

  2. Add the 100% Solid Osmotic Moisture Vapor and Alkalinity Control layer and let it settle in for 24 hours

Concrete inherently holds moister or water, especially when the concrete has just been poured and it’s at its liquid form. Concrete that has just been poured is called “Green Concrete”. It usually takes about 30 days for the moister to evaporate but can vary depending on the conditions.

By applying a handheld moister gage to the floor after it has been ground open, it gives us a snap shot of the moister content at that time. If the handheld meter shows more that 6% per square inch, we will notify the homeowner and call the designer to discuss our next step.

Two options are available at this point.

  1. 1)  The homeowner can wait for the concrete to dry out by leaving the garage door open and use fans to

circulate the air. This may take several days.

  2. 2)  Apply a base coat of the Moister Mediation System. This product will guarantee that moister will not become an issue for the life of coating.
